- To achieve a National 4 qualification in Computing Science
- Develop computational thinking skills.
- To develop skills in problem solving and resilience in computer programming
- Developing knowledge and understanding required to progress to National 5 Computing Science or NPA Computer Games Development
Description of the Course
The National 4 Computing Science course has two main areas of study: Software Design & Development and Information Systems Design & Development.
In the Software unit, students will learn to analyse, design, implement, test and evaluate a software problem.
The Information Systems unit will take students through topics on Web Development and Databases.
The course is assessed internally through two unit assessments and a final Added Value Unit (AVU) assessing learning from across the course.
